We are sitting in the living room of a strange hostel in Cappadocia, Turkey. After having decided to change our plans and see the volcanic ruins\stone dwellings, we boarded an overnight bus which deposited us at our destination at 8:00 am. We took a tour of the surrounding sites and took a hike down near a cathedral carved out of stone. This was followed by lunch and a ride home. The whole tour took about 8 hours and, because we were severly lacking sleep on the bus ride, we calculated that we were asleep for about 4 hours of the tour (while sitting on the bus). More

With divorce, lost jobs and sexual dysfunction, pornography is fueling a new breed, the porn generation … We have a national day of prayer, national day of fasting, the church needs a national day of porn, with direct and honest talk about the issues surrounding pornography – we have to get accountable.” More

During the late 1980s, the UST system was found to have leaked an unknown amount of fuel into the soil below the fueling tanks, dispensers, and delivery piping. The tanks were emptied and removed from service in the early 1990's. The City, through its consultants, determined the extent of soil/groundwater impacts. With the approval of the surrounding neighborhood associations and the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ), Environmental Services Engineering & Technical Support determined the most effective method of remediation. The 1994 Bond Program allocated $4,500,000 for the design and construction of the soil/groundwater Remedial Action System. All work is completed under the oversight of ADEQ.

WaterSmart Workshop Schedule. WaterSmart classes teach homeowners the basics of landscape water conservation through informative workshops based on the principles of xeriscape. Approximately 500 residents of Tucson and surrounding areas attend classes each year to learn techniques and applications for water-efficient landscaping compatible with the urban desert landscape.
The HDZ is an overlay zone adopted by the City that is added to the existing zoning of a property. The mountainous areas surrounding Tucson exhibit steep slopes, which may contain unstable rock and soils. Since development in these areas can be hazardous to life and property, construction methods that ensure slope stabilization and minimize soil erosion should be used. Specifics about the HDZ process can be located in section 2.8.1 of the Tucson Land Use Code and section 2-12 of the Development Standards.

Indicate the zoning on the property and the surrounding properties

A tentative plat serves as a document on which the proposed development is overlaid on a map showing the existing conditions of the property and the surrounding area. These conditions include topography and infrastructure improvements, as well as existing structures. The tentative plat shows specific information so that the designer and the plans reviewer can determine whether the project will function as designed and will comply with applicable regulations. Information regarding the tentative plat submittal requirements and review process can be found in the LUC section 4.1 and the Development Standards section 2-03.20.

Tucson Water—Water Quality Terms and Definitions
The temperature of the water delivered by Tucson Water can vary depending on the time of year and the location where the measurement is taken. Part of the reason for this variability is that our water supply comes from more than 200 different wells, and groundwater temperature is a function of depth below the surface and the geology surrounding the well. The temperature of the water can also change as it flows through our drinking water system, depending on outside temperatures. The water at your tap can be 85 degrees or higher and can be affected by your private plumbing. Water temperature can affect the taste of your drinking water. Storing tap water in a clean container at room temperature or in the refrigerator will give a more refreshing taste.

Special Places
Want to get an eyeful of our beautiful city and its surrounding mountains? Just look for the large letter “A” on the mountain to the west of downtown. This open space, known as Sentinel Peak or “A” Mountain, is a popular lookout point for Tucsonans and visitors alike. It also hosts the City’s annual July 4 fireworks show.
Immediately to the south of the site are a sundial and an old fountain placed atop an abandoned well. The fountain is decorated with handmade tiles created by the children of Carillo School, who as adults still come to view the tiles they made. A mural on the south side of the building represents the legend surrounding the Wishing Shrine, El Tiradito, located to the north

Business Tools - Nature
Where development occurs will have a lasting impact on our surrounding desert landscape. Tucson is located in the middle of one of the most biologically diverse areas in the world, known as the Sky Island region. In this environment, the wildlife depends on open space in-between mountain ranges in order to travel from one mountain, or “sky island”, to another. When development encroaches on these important wildlife linkages or corridors, the wildlife becomes isolated on individual mountain ranges, threatening the diversity of different species. Development that includes and respects nature is important for protecting the natural environment and maintaining our quality of life.

Ramada 7 has two tables, a BBQ area, power and lights. The ramada is very secluded. A stream runs nearby for great photo opportunities. Because the surrounding area is primarily dirt, most customers use Ramada 7 for a “southwestern” style wedding.
